Shami incluído em uma lista de prober de Bengala para 2025/26 em meio ao teste exato

India cricket team pacer Mohammed Shami has been named in West Bengal’s list of probable players available for the 2025/26 domestic season. The fast bowler was left out of the ongoing IND vs ENG Test series and was last seen in action in IPL 2025. With Shami not set to make any international appearance for at least the next two months, he has been named in Bengal’s probable list which comprises of 50 players.

Shami to play 2025/26 domestic season for Bengal?

As per ESPNCricinfo, Shami could potentially be a part of the East Zone in the Duleep Trophy. The first-class tournament, scheduled to begin from August 28, has reverted back to the zonal format after following a India A, B, C and D format last year. Apart from Shami, several other stars like Abhimanyu Easwaran, Akash Deep, Mukesh Kumar and Abhishek Porel among others have been named in the list.

After spending over a year on the sidelines owing to injury and comp;ications in recovery, Shami finally returned to action in IND vs ENG series earlier this year. He was then included in India’s Champions Trophy squad, and ended up picking 9 wickets. He then had a sub-par IPL 2025 season where he was almost ineffective and was criticized for his inability to bowl at consistent pace and lengths.

After picking up just 6 wickets from 9 innings in IPL, Shami was left out of the Test squad, majorly due to fitness issues. He was also quite expensive in CT 2025 and IPL 2025, maintaining an economy rate of 5.68 and 11.23 respectively.

Shami is now expected to turn to first-class cricket in order to find his way back into the Indian Test team. It is pertinent to point out that India are not scheduled to play any ODIs in the near future.
