Não Kohli e Rohit Sharat Virat, sem problemas para os níveis indianos: Siraj para “Equipe de nível”

Former England captain Nasser Hussain heaped praise on Mohammed Siraj for his intensity that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli used to for the team. The Hyderabad pacer is India’s leading wicket-taker in the ongoing IND vs ENG Test series with 18 scalps to his name. Siraj, who has played all five Tests, finished with a four-wicket haul in the 1st innings of the fifth Test and a wicket off the final delivery of play on Day 3 in the 2nd innings.

“Siraj is that man for India”

In his column for the Daily Mail, Hussain lavished praise on Siraj for being the only fast bowler who lasted through the course of the series. The ex-England skipper noted that while Chris Woakes came close to the Indian pacer, he too was ruled out after sustaining a shoulder injury during the 1st innings. Hussain pointed out that Siraj was a bowler who the captain would absolutely love, noting that he was the man who keeps lifting up the team.

“He is the sort of bloke a captain absolutely loves. He lifts the team. I always talk about Darren Gough being that sort of person when I was England captain, and Siraj is that man for India. I have been hugely impressed with the character and fight they have shown throughout this series,” Hussain said.\

Siraj was India’s second-most overworked bowler in the previous calendar year. However, unlike Bumrah, he hasn’t broken down in the middle of the series and has been lauded by experts for his unwavering commitment, intensity and dedication for the the team, across formats.

“I don’t think about breaking down. I only think about the match. I love playing for the country and I want to give everything to the country. I keep my plans simple and try to give my everything, and results do follow,” Siraj told Sky Sports
