It seems like the Pakistan Cricket Board is losing sleep over India’s withdrawal from the WCL 2025 matches against Pakistan — first in the league stages, and then in the semi-finals. As per a report in Cricket Pakistan, the board has called for an emergency meeting of the Board of Governors, on Thursday.
No India vs Pakistan at WCL 2025
The report further states that — the meeting with be headed by PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi, virtually. There, a lot of key issues could be discussed. Of course, Indian team’s stance against Pakistan remains one of the discussion points. It is expected, that the PCB will review the entire situation, and a formal statement could be issued, highlighting Pakistan’s stance.
Meanwhile, India’s refusal to play Pakistan has resulted in them reaching the final of the tournament. Other than the WCL 2025, other issues that could be discussed are — global cricket affairs, Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE, hosting rights. Their opponents for the final of the tournament will be decided after the final between Australia and South Africa.
PCB Left Worried
On the other hand, despite these pull outs, the BCCI has gotten the nod from the government, for the India vs Pakistan matches in the Asia Cup 2025. There, India could play the neighbours, not once, but thrice. The first match is guaranteed in the league stages, while the next one could be in the Super 4’s, and the last one could be in the final.
