Ind V vs.: Yasasvi Jaiswal vai para o Stars -19 Cinqüenta testes de carreira – aquele que veio depois que vários falharam.
After England took a 23-run lead in the fifth Test at the Oval, India had a chance to come back in the series, provided their openers gave them a good start. And that is exactly what southpaw Yashasvi Jaiswal did, who slammed yet another fifty on the tour, this time just in 44 deliveries, to give his team an upper hand.
Yashasvi Jaiswal Returns to Form
This was Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 13th Test fifty overall, and his third in the ongoing IND vs ENG series, including a ton at Leeds. What was truly remarkable is, he was looking a bit off colour since the Lord’s Test, and had returned with scores of 13, 0, 58, and 0, followed by a 2 in the first innings.
As far as the match is concerned, after Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley gave a rousing start to England and added 92 for the opening wicket in just 15 overs, England were bundled out for 247 only. Prasidh Krishna bagged his best figures — 4/62, while Mohammed Siraj bagged four as well, to become the highest wicket-taker in the series.
India Lead by 52 Runs
Come the third innings of the clash, India wiped off the deficit in quick time, but then lost KL Rahul in quick succession. But then, Jaiswal on the other end had ensured some quick runs for the team, that never let the pressure build. The southpaw has been the most consistent batter for India in the last couple of years, ever since his debut. And that shows in his numbers.
He is the only batter in the current roster, who averages close to 50. Eventually, the day belonged to India, where they ended at 75/2, with an overall lead of 52 runs, with eight wickets in hand.
