A equipe indiana e o Paquistão começaram a colisionar nos grupos de grupos do ano na lenda e no cérebro do campeonato.
The fallout from the abandoned India vs Pakistan fixture in the 2025 World Championship of Legends (WCL) continues to snowball, with tournament organisers now stepping in to clarify the events that led to the high-profile no-show at Edgbaston.
WCL 2025: India not at fault
WCL sources on Monday confirmed that the tournament committee has communicated to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) that the India Champions squad cannot be blamed for the cancellation. While the tournament rolled on with the rest of its schedule, the marquee clash was scrapped after several Indian players declined to play. The two countries, who haven’t been on the same page since decades, have been at loggerheads since the Pahalgam terror attack in April. Indian players, including Shikhar Dhawan and Harbhajan Singh denied participating in a clash against Pakistan.
The WCL had earlier released a statement calling the fixture off entirely, and now internal sources suggest the organisers have acknowledged their own inability to conduct the match. “WCL have conveyed to England and Wales Cricket Board that they, as organisers, were not able to conduct this match. The India Champions team are not at fault,” a WCL official told ANI.
